Now in its 48th year, the Notting Hill Carnival is held every August Bank Holiday with sights, sounds and smells to mesmerise and enchant anyone who witnesses this spectacle.
The largest street festival in Europe celebrates Afro-Caribbean culture and tradition – a way for the London community to show social solidarity.
Kicking off with the Carnival Bands at 9am on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August, this year’s carnival features music from D Riddim Tribe, Masquerade 2000 and Lagniappe, plus Calypso, Soca and steel bands, and will no doubt be bigger and better than 2013.
But it’s not just the music that makes people brave the crowds and head to Notting Hill, the food is also exquisite.
Choose from jerk chicken, curried goat and fried plantain, as well as a range of other exotic cuisines.
You’re guaranteed a magical, musical time so embrace the carnival scene, grab a mask and some feathers and head to London!
